Newcastle United still have a lot to play for this season.

Despite an utterly turbulent second full campaign in charge of Newcastle, Eddie Howe could yet lead them back into the Premier League’s top six.

They do have somewhat of a fight on the cards with Chelsea and Manchester United but Europa League qualification feels like a genuine possibility.

There are still battles to wage this season but, naturally, attention is already turning to the summer transfer window.

Newcastle were reportedly on the hunt for defensive reinforcement this summer even before long-term injuries to Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles.

Having lost both for significant periods of time, it’s clear that Howe will need fresh signings there next season.

Still, FFP issues may not make the recruitment of those as an easy process. As such, the club are being linked with moves for free agents.

Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly is thought to be of interest as he comes towards the end of his contract on the south coast, while Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo is another reported target.

In fact, TBR Football expert Graeme Bailey recently confirmed to Geordie Boot Boys that the club were indeed interested.

Such is his standing in the game, however, that there could be in fact be rival interest in the player.

Now, Fulham manager Marco Silva has shared his club’s stance.

Fulham have now confirmed that Newcastle transfer target Tosin Adarabioyo is set to leave

Speaking on Friday (via The Standard), Silva said: “Probably his future is not going to be at the club any more.”

Fulham will be gutted to lose Tosin Adarabioyo

Newcastle’s (potential) gain could be a great loss for Fulham.

Though perhaps not the superstar name many would have expected Newcastle to have been linked with in the immediate wake of the PIF takeover, Adarabioyo is highly-rated at Craven Cottage.

Last year (via Irish News), Silva praised the former Manchester City defender as “special”.

“We missed him a lot, we missed him because he didn’t play the first three months of the season,” he said.

“Tosin is a special player for us, I can’t hide that situation.”
