Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City remaining fixtures as Reds cling on to slim title hopes

Liverpool beat Tottenham 4-2 on Sunday to keep themselves within a slim chance of winning the Premier League title, as Arsenal and Manchester City remain the two frontrunners

Liverpool got back to winning ways against Tottenham

Liverpool are still fighting to give Jurgen Klopp a fairytale farewell by winning the Premier League title.

The Reds survived a late scare to beat Tottenham 4-2 on Sunday, punishing Spurs for their placid display at Anfield. Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead on 16 minutes before defender Andy Robertson made it two just before half-time.

Cody Gakpo then got in on the act with a second-half strike before Harvey Elliott went from provider to goalscorer with a cracking strike on the hour mark. Richarlison and Son Heung-min each pulled goals back for Tottenham, who could've had a late penalty, but their efforts did nothing to change the outcome.

The emphatic victory puts Klopp's men on 78 points, five behind leaders Arsenal and four behind current favourites Manchester City, who crucially have a game in hand. We only have two weeks of the Premier League season left, with City next in action as they face Fulham away from home next Saturday at 12:30pm.

Then it's Arsenal who face Manchester United in a mouth-watering clash at Old Trafford next Sunday afternoon. Liverpool then play on the Monday night away to Aston Villa, who have their own Champions League ambitions to focus on.

City play their all-important game in hand 24 hours later, visiting Tottenham at a stadium where fond memories for Pep Guardiola are few and far between. January's 1-0 FA Cup fourth-round win marked their first victory - and goal - at Spurs' new stadium after five failed attempts.

Then comes the final day on Sunday, May 19, with all three contenders at home. Arsenal host already safe Everton, Liverpool welcome Wolves and reigning champions City - searching for what would be a record fourth consecutive league title - play West Ham.

City boss Guardiola claims that his team can't afford to drop a single point during their last three games, telling Sky Sports after beating Wolves 5-1 on Saturday thanks to a four-goal haul from Erling Haaland: "We have to win at Fulham at 12:30pm which is always difficult. And Spurs is always [difficult].

"Because goal difference is not possible. We cannot draw. The way they [Arsenal] are playing since the winter break, it is incredible, the consistency and quality they have. But it is in our hands. It is three games. We have to win the first, second and hopefully we arrive at the last game with our destiny in our hands."
