Danny Rohl has some key selection dilemmas for Sheffield Wednesday’s game against Derby County on Sunday, with one or two carrying knocks.
Sheffield Wednesday travel to Derby County in the Championship on Sunday, as the Owls go in search of a fourth away win in five.
And it’s another Sheffield Wednesday game live on Sky Sports, with the Owls playing and beating Hull City on Sky in midweek.
That win left Danny Rohl’s side in 13th place of the Championship table as things stand, whilst Paul Warne’s Derby County sit two points and two places behind Wednesday in 15th.
Rohl spoke to the press on Friday afternoon and gave some interesting team news updates on his side.
The Owls boss says Olaf Kobacki could return for Sheffield Wednesday in December, and he also gave updates on Josh Windass and Ike Ugbo after the pair were brought off at half-time of the game at Hull.
Speaking after the Hull City game, Rohl revealed that Windass has a slight hamstring injury. Then speaking on Friday, Rohl suggested Windass and Ugbo are 50/50 to feature against Derby County on Sunday.
Ugbo picked up an injury in the days after the Hull City game whilst Windass is still nursing a hamstring strain.
Rohl said that he’ll take a look at both players in training on Saturday and then make a late call on whether they’re able to feature against Derby.
Posting on X, journalist Dom Howson has urged Rohl to take caution with Windass, and only start the 30-year-old if he’s fully recovered from his hamstring issue.

Earlier in the season, Windass was benched for Sheffield Wednesday’s 3-0 defeat at Millwall in the Championship.
Then speaking later in the campaign, Windass revealed he was angry at Rohl for being dropped, but that it made him train even harder.
Windass said in September: “It was a surprise. I think the manager knew I was angry but I trained the same as I always train and I try and reflect that to the rest of my team-mates.
“I don’t speak a lot to them but I try to show them with the way I act and the way I train.”
Since, Windass has been back to his best. He’s scored three in his last six Championship outings for the Owls and is on five in 15 in the league this season, making him Wednesday’s top scorer in the Championship.
He also ranks among the top ten highest-scorers in the league this season.
