Orlando Pirates hosted defending Caf Champions League champions Al Ahly at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

Despite some good chances created by both teams, the game ended goalless.

South Africa forward Percy Tau was in the Red Devils' matchday squad.

Despite knowing Pirates well - owing to his association with some players during international assignments, the 30-year-old was benched.

He was introduced in the 63rd minute but despite showing some glimpses of brilliance, he was well contained by Bucs.

"Percy Tau is one of the fastest Al Ahly players, so why was he on the bench in the match against the South African champion?" Abdelghany told MBC Masr.

"Percy Tau's presence had an impact on Al Ahly's formation and made a difference."

WHAT NEXT?

Recently, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos challenged Percy Tau to consider ditching the Egyptian side for a team that will guarantee him playing time.

Next year, the national team will resume the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, and play in the Africa Cup of Nations as well.

The attacker might be overlooked if he doesn't act.
