Darwin Nunez fuels shock Liverpool exit rumours with clear Arsenal and Chelsea transfer warning

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez's social media activity sends Arsenal and Chelsea an unwanted transfer warning

Darwin Nunez has sparked speculation over a potential Liverpool exit

Darwin Nunez has sparked shock rumours over his future at Liverpool after removing all of his posts from his time at the club on social media. The striker was named on the bench in the Reds' 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday before coming on for Luis Diaz at 4-1 in the 75th minute.

Nunez has scored 18 times for Liverpool this season and assisted a further 13 times, but the quality of options in attack for Jurgen Klopp means he has been in and out of the squad. Since moving from Benfica in 2022, the Uruguay international has managed 33 goals in total in England but has often been criticised for his lack of composure in front of goal.

Now, following the win over Spurs, Nunez has sparked rumours over his future in the Premier League by removing all of his posts associated with Liverpool from Instagram. A quick glance at his profile shows that only posts of him in action with Uruguay and Benfica remain.

It is currently unclear why the striker has opted to take down his Liverpool-related posts, though it comes after Barcelona were linked with a shock move for him. With changes expected to happen at Anfield with Klopp departing, Nunez's potential exit could leave Arsenal and Chelsea scrambling with their own transfer plans.

Both teams are likely to be in the market for a new striker for next season, with Mikel Arteta and Mauricio Pochettino looking to bolster their attack. However, should Liverpool sell Nunez, they themselves will be in the same market for a new number nine in the summer.

Mohamed Salah's uncertain future means Liverpool could be desperate for new attacking reinforcements. Unfortunately for Arsenal and Chelsea, they could face unwanted competition for one of their targets.

Ivan Toney, Victor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are just three of the names linked with moves to both teams in the past six months. FFP concerns mean clubs have to construct the best deal possible and interest elsewhere isn't ideal.
