Real Madrid looks to have an injury crisis on its hands ahead of the Champions League clash with Liverpool later this month.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side makes the trip to Anfield on November 27 with plenty of work to do if it is to avoid a play-off in the knockout stages of the competition. Having already lost against Lille and AC Milan, Los Blancos are 18th in the league phase after four games, while the Reds sit top after winning all of their games so far.

And the Spanish giants don’t look to be having the best build-up to that game on Merseyside, with two more players now looking like serious doubts.

Los Blancos were hit by a major double blow during the first half of their La Liga clash with Osasuna on Saturday. Brazilian winger Rodrygo was forced off just 20 minutes into the game, having only just returned from a recent hamstring injury.

Just 10 minutes later after his departure, Eder Militao followed him off the pitch on a stretcher. The defender looked to be in considerable pain after sustaining a knee injury, putting him in major doubt for the trip to Liverpool.

Militao’s injury in particular will come as a major blow to Madrid, with Ancelotti already running low on defensive options.

With David Alaba and Dani Carvajal suffering ACL injuries, and youngsters Joan Martinez and Jacobo Ramon also out along with Aurelien Tchouameni, who could also fill in at center-back, Madrid situation at the back is looking increasingly bleak.

Militao’s injury meant 21-year-old Raul Asencio had to be called from the bench, having received his first call-up to the senior side just hours before. He immediately made an impact though, providing the assist for Jude Bellingham to make it 2-0 before the break after Vinicius Jr had opened the scoring against Osasuna.
