Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has been linked with a move to West Ham United for years now, stretching back to his days with Bournemouth.
Callum Wilson has been West Ham United’s nemesis throughout his career, and he has scored more goals against us than he has any other club in his career, with 12 in 14 games to his name (Transfermarkt).
The 32-year-old has a history of winding up the Hammers fans during his time with Bournemouth. Once, he scored a goal against us with his hand, and then laughed when asked about it after the game.
And then during his time with Newcastle, he posted numerous cheeky social media messages ahead of thier games against us.
In addition to all of that, Wilson then trolled us about our transfer business last year, suggesting that our approach to the transfer market was ‘confusing’.
He truly has been a thorn in our side over the past few years hasn’t he. Interestingly, we tried to sign him back in 2020 before he joined Newcastle.
And now, it seems like we could have another bite of the cherry…
So the former Bournemouth man is allegedly back on the Hammers’ radar.
He was actually linked with a move to the London Stadium in January, but he remained on Tyneside in the end.
Now the Magpies have made a firm decision on the 32-year-old’s future with them…
Give Me Sport claim that Newcastle United are willing to sell Callum Wilson for around £20 million this summer.
Wilson has been a great striker throughout the years, but he is 32 now, and incredibly injury prone.
The centre-forward has bagged 48 goals in 107 games for the Toon, but he has also missed 462 days of action through injury since he moved to St James’ Park (Transfermarkt).
West Ham need a striker like Callum Wilson, but a younger, more durable model.
I don’t think we should be signing him for £20 million this summer, there are far better options out there like Dominic Solanke for a start.
