Jamie Redknapp has dropped a claim regarding Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur.

With just three Premier League matches left to play before the campaign ends, one of those games will see Pep Guardiola’s side take on Spurs away from home in what will be their penultimate outing of the campaign.

As things stand, the Blues are going head-to-head with Arsenal to win the Premier League title and will need to win all of their remaining games to lift the trophy.

Looking ahead to next week’s match against Spurs, one pundit has shared some early insight on the matter, focusing on one particular aspect that has been mentioned about it.

Redknapp drops claim on Spurs vs Man City

Speaking on talkSPORT, Redknapp had this to say about City’s match against Spurs and the prospect of Ange Postecoglou’s side allowing the Blues to win so they don’t end up seeing their North London rivals win the league.

He said: “When people talk about are they not going to try, they are not going to hand the title to Arsenal, you can’t do that as a player.

“It is just impossible. Fans might think it can happen, but there is no way.

“You are going to be live on Sky, you want to perform, you want to show your best.

“What are you going to do? You are not going to go into a tackle. Is the goalkeeper not going to want to save a shot?

“That’s not how it works in football.”

Man City must do all they can to beat Spurs

Spurs currently find themselves seven points behind Aston Villa in fourth place as both sides aim to secure Champions League football for next season.

After losing Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in their three previous league games, this weekend sees the Lilywhites take on Burnley at home ahead of Tuesday’s match against City.
