Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has seemingly (and definitely jokingly) advised one of his international teammates to join him at Anfield. The former Ajax and Bayern Munich ace has begun this season exceptionally well.
Gravenberch, playing in a number six role for Arne Slot, was superb for the Netherlands during the international break too, continuing the substantial progression that he has showcased. And he had a message for Quinten Timber, the brother of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber, who is a highly-rated midfielder.
Slot will no doubt be well aware of him given he plays for Feyenoord. But while there has never been any links with a move to Merseyside, Gravenberch has joked that he should move to the Reds.
As Timber took part in a television interview with the Dutch outlet NOS, Gravenberch was spotted walking past and suggesting that a switch to Liverpool would make the most sense for the 23-year-old.
Timber produced 16 goal contributions for Feyenoord in Slot's final season with the Dutch side, which is an impressive tally from midfield. But Liverpool opted against signing an alternative to Martin Zubimendi when the Spaniard decided to stay with Real Sociedad rather than make the move to the Premier League.
Liverpool.com says: Timber is a very good player and Liverpool does look a little light of numbers in the middle of the pitch. He wouldn't necessarily improve the starting XI at Anfield but could have been a useful squad option.
Given his relationship with Slot (and now the light-hearted Gravenberch comment), Timber will inevitably be linked with a move to Liverpool again. It would be no shock to see him in England at some stage as he is a talented player.
