Sergio Aguero has predicted whether Manchester City or Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season.

Having won five league titles, Sergio Aguero is perhaps one of the most ideal candidates one could have asked this question to.

Furthermore, Aguero has won the title in varying circumstances.

In the 2011/2012, 2013/2014 and 2018/2019 season, the retired striker saw his City side be the hunter in the title races.

But in the 2017/2018 and 2020/2021 campaign, Sergio Aguero was part of a Manchester City team that tasted domestic glory in one-horse races.

As a result, Aguero could perhaps put himself in the shoes of both City and Arsenal at this moment in time.

Aguero shares who will the Premier League: Man City or Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently hoping for Manchester City to slip up; a position Sergio Aguero can relate to, having perhaps felt the same way when previous Manchester United and Liverpool teams were leading in the title fight.

But then again, Sergio Aguero knows the ins and outs of how Pep Guardiola in the last stretch of a title run-in.

The same can be said about the players he has played with like Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, Ederson, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake.

Aguero has witnessed the aforementioned players deliver in title races and how they train ahead of big games.

However, Sergio Aguero backed Manchester City instead of Arsenal to go the distance while speaking to The Club.

“I think Man City maybe win the Premier League because Arsenal have to win every game so I think Man City can do it.”

Aguero makes a valid point

In our view, Aguero raises a valid point about why Manchester City have the edge over Arsenal in the title race.

Arteta’s side have to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford and Everton to win the title; two challenging games.

Arsenal might be superior than both teams but to defeat them with the pressure of hoping City drop points will be a challenge for them.

The Sky Blues, on the other hand need not worry about their title rivals and can play their upcoming games with a sense of freedom.

If City win their remaining league outings, they will win the league and a lesser sense of pressure in comparison to Arsenal gives them a major advantage over them.
