The Premier League action is back over the weekend as Arsenal prepare for a tough clash against West Ham United on the road.

Mikel Arteta will be looking to keep up momentum gained from wins in the league and in Europe over the past week when taking on the Hammers.

Arsenal have looked close to their impressive best, with Martin Odegaard improving since returning from injury, helping everyone around him improve too.

That doesn’t mean it’ll be an easy trip to West Ham though, with a patchy record in the last five head-to-heads with their London rivals.

So with that said, our experts at Arsenal Insider have their go at predicting the clash and how it may play out at the London Stadium.

West Ham vs Arsenal predictions

Shamanth Jayaram

The last time Arsenal faced West Ham United at the Emirates in the Premier League, we lost 2-0. I can’t see a repeat of that on Saturday; I think the Gunners will pick up a comfortable win.

Like we did against Sporting CP and Nottingham Forest, I expect Arsenal to dominate the game from the first minute.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard combined to wreak havoc in the last two games, and I expect that to continue against the Hammers.

Jarrod Bowen will be a threat once again and he is a player we should be wary of. But, West Ham’s best player is Lucas Paqueta and he should be kept quiet in the middle of the park.

Mohamed Kudus is suspended, so that’s one less problem to worry about.

Score prediction: West Ham 0-3 Arsenal (Saka, Gabriel, Havertz).

I’m expecting it to be a challenging game but a test that Arsenal can breeze through if we start the game well.

As we saw against Sporting, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka are key and if we can play into the strengths of the right side, we could really test West Ham.

Defensively we’ll need to be savvy, Michail Antonio is a real problem player on his day for the Hammers and gets himself into good areas – he’ll be one to watch.

I think if we can replicate the first half against Sporting then we could win big again.

Score prediction: West Ham 0-3 Arsenal (Saka x2, Odegaard).

I’m not expecting a repeat of Arsenal’s 6-0 mauling in east London back in February, but I’m hopeful that it will be a relatively controlled win for Mikel Arteta’s men.

West Ham look fairly weak in the middle right now, and Martin Odegaard could have a field day if he continues his form since the international break.

Regardless of the midfield combination alongside him, the Arsenal captain should have the license to drift into dangerous positions, and I’m really not convinced about Guido Rodriguez.

Julen Lopetegui’s side could still make it tricky – it might be one of those games when Arsenal need to stay patient, but I expect their superior quality will eventually tell.

Jarrod Bowen is undoubtedly the key cog for Lopetegui, as he was for David Moyes.

Now the captain, he really does lead by example, and he’s the player who’s going to have that inspirational moment for the home side if it does come.

Riccardo Calafiori can’t afford any lapses of concentration on Saturday, a big test for the Italian.

Score prediction: West Ham 0-2 Arsenal (Saka x2).

Luke Thrower

Both teams go into the tie with a little bit of a confidence boost, which should make for an interesting game.

Arsenal need a win but have found it tough against West Ham in the past, though this isn’t the same Hammers side they’ve taken on before.

Julen Lopetegui’s side look open, especially in the midfield, which could give chances to the away side in abundance.

Martin Odegaard will be the deciding factor for Arsenal, as he has done recently, while Michail Antonio will be key for the home side in finding a way out of their defensive shape and into an attacking phase of play.

Score prediction: West Ham 0-2 Arsenal (Saka, Timber).
