Fabio Vieira has claimed that Manchester City have a player who is one of the very best in the world.

Despite Arsenal and City going head-to-head to win the Premier League title, it seems like there is mutual admiration from players from both sides.

Declan Rice admitted that he was a “big admirer” of Rodri and described him as a “fantastic player.”

The Spanish international also revealed that he has always tried to learn from some of the best midfielders like Rice.

When two players are often compared to each other, one expects a rivalry to brew between them.

For instance, when Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane were constantly compared to each other.

The reason why Manchester United and Arsenal’s battles were as intense as they were not solely down to the parallels drawn between both captains at the time.

But there was perhaps a fire ignited between Vieira and Keane to prove who was the better midfielder.

Especially in what was the biggest game of the season at the time.

However, players like Rodri and Rice do not seem to be focused on the competitiveness between them.

Instead, their focus is merely on ensuring their team comes out on top.

Furthermore, Manchester City and Arsenal have players who are teammates at international level.

Fabio Vieira and Ruben Dias, for example, with the former hailing the latter as one of the best centre-backs in world football.

“You look at the centre-back, he’s a warrior, he’s a fighter, he’s one of the best centre-backs in the world”, he said on the Premier League’s official YouTube channel.

In our view, it is difficult to disagree with Fabio Vieira about Ruben Dias being one of the best of the best in his position.

Since signing for Manchester City in 2020, the Portuguese defender has won several individual and collective awards to suggest otherwise as well.

After his debut season at the club, the Sky Blues’ number three won the Premier League Player of The Season award.

Dias was also named the UEFA Champions League Defender of The Season.

Ruben Dias has also been included in the Champions League Team of The Season and the Premier League Team of The Season twice in almost four full seasons.

On the collective front, Dias has won three league titles, one FA Cup, one Carabao Cup and a Champions League in a treble-winning campaign.

Fabio Vieira has every right to name Ruben Dias as one of the standout centre-backs in the game as his individual and collective achievements highlight the standard he has set for years now.
