Alfie Devine has completed a season-long loan move from Tottenham to Belgian side KVC Westerlo.

The 20-year-old, Tottenham's youngest ever goalscorer, will link up there with young centre-back Luka Vuskovic, who joins Spurs next year after he turns 18. Devine spent last season on loan at first League One side Port Vale and then stepped up to the Championship in January for a half-season spell at Plymouth Argyle.

Devine impressed this summer during pre-season under Ange Postecoglou, making a positive impact across a string of performances for Tottenham in five of their six pre-season friendlies.

A string of interested Championship clubs were initially told that the England U20 midfielder was not available for loan this summer, only for that stance to change later into the window when many had moved on to other targets. Despite plenty of interest remaining from other clubs, nothing concrete came to fruition and Devine was named on the bench for Spurs' Premier League defeat at Newcastle on Sunday.

However, with the Belgium transfer window one of those remaining open so Devine is now going to play for a season with regular senior game time in the Juliper Pro League in what is a straight loan without any option to buy. Some clubs are believed to have approached Tottenham this summer with such offers for the young midfielder.
