Liverpool fans have hit out at Trent Alexander-Arnold after a clip of him warming up during the Champions League match against Real Madrid emerged online.
In a thrilling match to end a dramatic week of Champions League action, Liverpool got the best of European rivals Real Madrid with a 2-0 victory at Anfield.
After recovering from a hamstring injury, many fans anticipated that the match could see the return of Alexander-Arnold, but the right-back failed to make it off of the bench during the game.
And now, a clip of the Englishman warming up during the game has emerged online, and Liverpool fans are not happy about it.
In the clip, Alexander-Arnold can be seen warming up alongside teammate Tyler Morton and watching the crucial moment in the match when Mohamed Salah took a penalty to try to take the score to 2-0.
However, while doing so the defender is blocking the view of fans in the wheelchair section behind him and, despite cries from the impacted fans, it appears to take Morton telling Alexander-Arnold step aside for him to sit and stop blocking the view.
Posting the clip on X, Liverpool fan Nick Collins wrote: "Why do UEFA make the players warm up in front of the wheelchair section? LFC should push back on it.
"But most of all, why did Trent act like a dick? He wasn’t going to move out of the way until he was basically shamed into doing so, then still held his hands out."
In a reply to his post, Collins added: "Where has the humble attitude from Trent gone? Similar situation years ago he immediately sat down with the other players when there was a penalty.
"Can’t the club just instruct the players to sit down in situations like this? Or are us fans really unimportant now?"
However, some fans pointed out that it is possible that Alexander-Arnold was simply focusing on what could have been a massive moment in the game, and may not have been aware of the situation until his teammate spoke to him directly.
