Roman Abramovich used to send same brutal text to Carlo Ancelotti whenever Chelsea lost

Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti previously revealed the brutal text then-owner Roman Abramovich used to send him whenever the Blues lost a match.

Back in 2009, Italian Ancelotti was appointed Chelsea boss, replacing interim boss Guus Hiddink.

During his time in charge at Stamford Bridge, Ancelotti led Chelsea to three trophies, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield.

However, the Italian's reign as Chelsea boss came to an abrupt end after a string of disappointing results during the 10/11 season.

Back in 2022, it was reported that Abramovich used to just send Ancelotti a question mark whenever Chelsea suffered a defeat.

Sky Italia journalist Fabio Caressa explained via The Sun: "Ancelotti told me that Abramovich also texted him, always the same, especially in times when things were not going well.

"He only sent him a question mark."

Ancelotti, though, would reply with an exclamation mark.

"Instead he, the genius that is Carlo, answered him only with an exclamation mark," added Caressa.

At the time of his dismissal, which came hours after a 1-0 away defeat to Everton on the final day of the 2010/11 season, Ancelotti had the third-highest win percentage in Premier League history.

His overall record in all competitions stands at 67 wins, 20 draws and 22 losses - with his win percentage standing at 61%.

After leaving Chelsea, Ancelotti went on to manage Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton before returning to Madrid.

During his second spell in charge of Los Blancos, Ancelotti has won two La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues among other trophies.

On Saturday, Madrid recorded a convincing win over Osasuna in La Liga to end their two match losing streak. Star man Vinicius Junior was in fine form as he netted a hat-trick, with Jude Bellingham also on the score sheet as Ancelotti's men came away 4-0 winners.

As a result, they managed to close the gap to leaders Barcelona to six points.
