Gonçalo Inácio has enjoyed an impressive season with Sporting CP

Liverpool has secured a return to the Champions League for next season and will now look to end the Jürgen Klopp era with two more wins. The Reds travel to Aston Villa on Monday night before a final day farewell against Wolves. Focus is already switching to the summer and potential additions, with a reported defensive target eyeing a move to the Premier League. Here's your round-up of the latest Liverpool news.

Gonçalo Inácio 'wants Premier League move'

Sporting CP defender Gonçalo Inácio has reportedly set his sights on a move to the Premier League this summer. The 22-year-old has emerged as a potential target for the Reds, who are expected to sign at least one defender.

Inácio has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Newcastle and Caught Offside reports he is keen to progress his career with a move to England. He will not come cheap though, should those sides make a move.

Sporting will reportedly demand the defender's release clause of $65m (£52m/€60m) is paid in full before entertaining any offer. The Reds have also been linked with Inácio's teammate Ousmane Diomande in recent months.

Inácio has already won six senior caps for Portugal and he will hope to be involved at the European Championships this summer. Impressive performances in Germany will likely see other clubs register their interest.

Liverpool will need to replace Joël Matip once his contract expires at the end of the season, while there is also uncertainty over Joe Gomez's long-term future at Anfield.

Doak could get surprise Scotland call-up?

Liverpool youngster Ben Doak's nightmare season could yet have a happy ending with a call-up to the Scotland squad for the European Championships. Doak has made just one appearance this term and had surgery on a knee problem back in December.

The 18-year-old is now back in training and will be given every opportunity to prove his fitness by Scotland boss Steve Clarke. Doak is yet to make his senior debut but has impressed with the Under-21s.

And according to The Scotsman, Clarke is considering handing Doak a place in his squad. UEFA has confirmed that squad sizes for this summer's tournament will be increased from 23 to 26 and that could open the door for the Liverpool youngster.

Scotland has a host of injury problems going into the Euros and Clarke reportedly sees Doak's pace off the bench as a potential weapon for his side. Scotland faces host nation Germany in the group stage, as well as Hungary and Switzerland.
