Arsenal picked up a comfortable 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The Gunners were desperate for a win after being held to a 0-0 draw against Atalanta in Bergamo in their opening fixture of the competition.
Mikel Arteta’s side started really well, and Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the hosts after just 20 minutes. Saka then doubled that lead 10 minutes before the break, and that was enough for Arsenal to seal the win.
After the game, Saka made a bold prediction about Arsenal while in conversation with Gunners legend Thierry Henry.
Arsenal have challenged for the Premier League title in each of the last two seasons.
The Gunners came extremely close on both occasions – they finished five points behind Manchester City in the 2022/23 campaign and just two short last term.
Arteta and co are hoping that third time is the charm, and Arsenal have started the season fairly well. Away trips to the Etihad, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Villa Park are all out of the way and they’re just a point off the top of the table.
After Arsenal’s Champions League victory over PSG at the Emirates on Tuesday night, Saka had a chat with Henry and others on CBS Sports.
The legendary Frenchman asked Saka: “Do you think this season is the season for the title? Do you think it’s important this year to win the title?”
The Gunners number seven replied: “I don’t want to put too much pressure on us but I do think this is the year. I think we’ve been close in the last two years and, yeah, we’re getting closer. This, hopefully, will be the year.”
Henry loved that response.
“True captain. I like that, I like the way you are speaking tonight!”

Saka may not have been at his scintillating best against PSG, but he was still very, very good.
Luis Enrique deployed Nuno Mendes at left-back at the Emirates, and the Portuguese defender is one of the most talented full-backs in Europe.
However, Saka made him look average.
The England international had 58 touches of the ball and completed 23 of his 30 attempted passes.
He also won nine duels, had seven touches in the opposition box and completed three take-ons. Saka also made two tackles and had two shots at goal while also creating one chance (Squawka).
As Arsenal’s captain, Saka led by example against PSG, and he should be very pleased with his display.
