Player sales could be the big talking point at Newcastle United this summer.

The Magpies are said to be cutting it fine in terms of their Profit and Sustainability limits, and they may have to offload a few players to balance the books.

There’s been a lot of chat about big names such as Bruno Guimaraes or Alexander Isak leaving the club, but according to Craig Hope, speaking on his YouTube channel, there’s another ‘amazing’ player who could leave Newcastle.

Kieran Trippier could leave

Hope spoke about the prospect of Kieran Trippier leaving Newcastle, claiming that there’s a 50% chance the right-back departs this summer.

“Names put to me, Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson, there’s a chance, there’s a chance with both. I think I’d rate both as a 50/50. Wilson, he might’ve gone in January. There was interest there, Atletico Madrid made a loan offer,” Hope said.

“Trippier I would rate that 50/50 right now. There was an offer from Bayern Munich in January. I think the hierarchy would want him to stay beyond this summer, but it’s come to a point where he’s approaching 34, he’s got the Euros, and I think it might make sense personally to make one last big move,”

Trippier isn’t scared to move clubs

It would be a real shame to see Kieran Trippier leaving Newcastle, but, at the same time, it wouldn’t be that much of a shock if he did go.

Trippier has been a player who has bounced from club to club over the years, from Burnley to Tottenham to Atletico Madrid to Newcastle.

If Bayern Munich do return for Trippier, it wouldn’t be a shock at all if he did jump at the chance to play for the German giants. It’s another crack at the Champions League and he also knows both Eric Dier and Harry Kane well from his time at Spurs.

Trippier doesn’t owe Newcastle anything at this point, and if he decides he wants a fresh challenge, he’ll leave with the well-wishes of everyone on Tyneside.
