Arsenal transfer news as Benjamin Sesko's agent drops a huge hint over the striker's future ahead of the summer

The agent of Arsenal transfer target Benjamin Sesko has sparked excitement that the striker could be on his way to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.

Sesko, 20, has been linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of the summer after impressing in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. The striker has scored 15 times in his debut season in Germany and has netted in his last four games.

As well as interest from Arsenal, Chelsea are understood to be interested. Mauricio Pochettino's men are in desperate need of a new striker ahead of the new season after Christopher Nkunku's first season in England was hampered by injury.

According to reports, the Slovenia international has a £43million release clause in his contract at the Red Bull Arena which will become active in the summer. In comparison to the £100m+ transfer fees needed to sign Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen, Sesko could be viewed as a bargain for the Gunners.

Kai Havertz has taken responsibility at centre-forward within Mikel Arteta's side in recent weeks. Since the 6-0 win over West Ham, the £65million signing has scored eight goals in 12 Premier League games, assisting a further five.

However, a new striker is expected to be on Edu Gaspar's transfer wishlist in the summer. And despite there being so much left to play for on the pitch, transfer plans are progressing off it

Sesko's agent Elvis Basanovic recently posted an image of himself at the Emirates Stadium. Basanovic, whose agency Pro Transfer represents Sesko, was in the members-only lounge, The VW, for last week's London derby win over Chelsea.

Edu has already confirmed that the club have identified their targets ahead of the summer. Speaking to TNT Sports in February, he said: "I understand why the fans are asking for [a No.9] but we already have our targets planned, we know what we’re going to face.

"I’d be worried if we weren’t scoring goals or creating chances but we are doing that right now. The plan is to try and get better every year, we’re at a good moment right now and so it’s about improving step-by-step."
