Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno has vowed to help his former club Arsenal in the Premier League title race as he gets ready to face Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side travel to Craven Cottage on Saturday as they lock horns with Fulham and the Gunners are desperate for their title rivals to drop points.

If City win their remaining three games, they will once again be crowned Premier League champions and it will be another painful ending for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Leno, who spent four years at the Emirates from 2018 to 2022, would love to see Arsenal end their 20-year wait to clinch the top-flight trophy.

After helping Fulham keep a clean sheet in their 0-0 draw at Brentford last time out, Leno posted on Instagram: ‘+1 and a clean sheet… two more games to go.’

One Arsenal fan, @ioannis__, couldn’t resist bringing up Fulham’s upcoming game against City as he commented: ‘Same again next week brother. All [eyes] on you.’

Leno then wrote back to the Arsenal fan, which has already racked up thousands of heart reactions, as the German ‘keeper said: ‘Okay boss!’

That saw a wave of Arsenal supporters flood the comments section, expressing their gratitude towards Leno for his response.

‘If you can stop City next week trust me you’re [a] pure legend [at] Arsenal,’ @righteous_18 posted.

Another Arsenal fan, @_i.sma, said: ‘You’ve always been a legend in my books.’

‘Once a Gunner always a Gunner,’ @i.su4i wrote, while @malik_shakoor10 added: ‘Please do it for us.’

Leno opened up about his Arsenal exit last year and insisted that he did not have any ‘toxic feelings’ towards his old side.

‘It didn’t end in the perfect way, but my reception at the Emirates was really good,’ Leno said. ‘I came through the front door and I left through the front door. I still have a connection to the club.’
