Man City's senior players decide on new strict car rule that everyone must follow

Manchester City's senior players have reportedly decided on a new strict car parking rule for all members of the first-team squad.

City are going in search of an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title this season.

They are in a strong position to achieve the remarkable feat, with Pep Guardiola's side just one point behind leaders Arsenal but with a game in hand.

Guardiola has overseen a remarkable period of success at the Etihad, successfully implementing strict rules and high standards in his pursuit of football perfection.

The Daily Mail claim that Guardiola's five-man leadership group in the first-team squad has now come up with a new rule to keep younger, less experienced players grounded.

It is claimed that Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Rodri and Bernardo Silva have been the driving force being a new rule change regarding the car park at City's training ground.

There is now a more 'regimented' system for spots for players based on their status and longevity at the club.

"Everybody has their own numbered bay these days and the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes and Jeremy Doku are further away from the entrance than those who have been with the club throughout the successes under Guardiola," read the report.

It is a rule that hasn't been previously used at City and it is unclear why the senior players would choose to implement it at this stage of the season.

However, it is not the first time a Premier League club has adopted strict rules around cars and parking with younger players.

Liverpool make their youngsters sign an unusual car clause in contracts, banning them from driving vehicles with an engine exceeding 1.3 litres in an effort to keep them grounded early in their careers.

Meanwhile, over at Manchester United – youngster Kobbie Mainoo reportedly continues to use the main car park at Carrington rather than parking his car in the first-team one, so as to not get carried away with his success.
