Bukayo Saka and Danny Welbeck nominated for Premier League Player of the Month

The Premier League have now announced their nominees for the October Player of the Month award, and Saka is one of eight nominees.

Saka scored twice and assisted twice in two games in October either side of the international break, and was arguably Arsenal’s best player against Southampton and Liverpool.

One of the other nominees is former Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck, who is enjoying a sensational campaign at Brighton.

Premier League Player of the Month nominees:

Welbeck has scored six times in nine games this season, which includes three in three games in October, and Arsenal fans will love what he managed in this month.

Welbeck has been vital for Brighton, and Arsenal fans loved his impact against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with the striker scoring the winner after his side went 2-0 down.

The Englishman also scored a winner against Newcastle, before striking against Wolves, and is a worthy candidate for the award.

Despite injury troubles, Welbeck was popular at the Emirates, and he scored some important goals including a few against Manchester United, who were interested in bringing him back to Old Trafford in the summer.

Arsenal fans have been enjoying his revival at Brighton, but they will still hope Saka beats Welbeck to the Player of the Month award.
