Chelsea are all set to offload Romelu Lukaku in the summer for a deal that was agreed privately with the player's agent last year.
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are willing to sell the Belgian forward for a transfer fee of £38m (€44m) in the upcoming window. The player's exit clause was decided between the Premier League giants and his representative last summer.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Teams from across the world, including his current club AS Roma - where he is on a year-long loan - can trigger the clause to sign him permanently ahead of the 2024/25 season. He has reportedly drawn interest from several Saudi Pro League sides.
