Joshua Zirkzee has been linked to Juventus in recent weeks as he continues to struggle at Manchester United. The Dutchman has not been able to make his mark with the Red Devils since his dream debut at the start of the season and could now look to return to the Serie A to revive his career.
Juventus are seemingly keen on bringing the striker back to Italy, but inability to splash out money in the January transfer window has forced them to resort to a swap deal instead. According to 'Calciomercato', the 38-time Scudetto winners have offered Brazilian duo Douglas Luiz and Danilo in exchange of the United striker.
Douglas Luiz is the surprise from the two, as Juve spent 50 million euros to sign him on a five-year deal from Aston Villa just last summer. The 26-year-old was brought in to dominate in midfield, but has failed to settle in at the 'Old Lady' and counts only two starts in the league so far. While they do not want to get rid of him on a permanent deal, 'Calciomercato' report that just reducing the cost of his wages via a loan move would be a huge advantage for Juventus.
This news comes as 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' report that the club's sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has held with Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian, who also represents Douglas Luiz, during his recent trip to Manchester. Italian outlet claim that the desire for Zirkzee primarily stems from Juve manager Thiago Motta, who "dreams" to reunite with the player he coached last season at Bologna.
