Tottenham stars 'complaining' about Ange Postecoglou behind his back as sack stance clear

Tottenham Hotspur are struggling immensely this season, and there are now suggestions that Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is beginning to frustrate some of his players

The pressure is mounting on Ange Postecoglou

Several Tottenham Hotspur players are reportedly expressing their unhappiness with Ange Postecoglou behind his back.

Spurs are languishing in 15th place in the Premier League table and are without a win in their last six matches. After their 3-2 away loss to Everton, there were renewed calls for Postecoglou's dismissal.

Despite still being in the Europa League and the FA Cup, and also having one foot in the Carabao Cup final, the mood in north London is low. Given Postecoglou's extensive injury list, things could yet get worse before they get better for the Australian.

In the meantime, there have been accusations that Postecoglou's demanding training sessions could be contributing to the lengthy injury list, and this sentiment is said to be growing amongst the Tottenham players.

According to the Daily Mail, several players are voicing complaints about Postecoglou's rigorous training regime behind closed doors. This feeling has reportedly deepened after Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson became the latest players to join the injury list prior to the match against Everton.

Both players could now miss several weeks of football with injury. They join Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Timo Werner, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster and Wilson Odobert in the treatment room.

Squad members are also reportedly disgruntled about having to stay overnight in a hotel before each match, regardless of the location or timing. While Postecoglou's refusal to modify his tactics during this challenging period is believed to be exacerbating the situation, players have noted a recent softening in his aggressive attacking strategy.

The Tottenham players are reportedly concerned by the injury list

Daniel Levy is hesitating on making managerial changes at Tottenham due to a shortage of suitable candidates. The clubs sporting director, Johan Lange, is said to have his eyes on Brentford's Thomas Frank, but it's uncertain if he'd jump ship mid-season to a city rival.

Other potential contenders like Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth and Fulham's Marco Silva have impressed this season, yet doubts linger over their readiness to depart in the midst of a campaign.

Kieran McKenna of Ipswich, meanwhile, has ties with the Spurs youth setup from the past. Yet the chances of McKenna departing Ipswich in the middle of a relegation battle and Tottenham being interested in paying his hefty compensation package seems unlikely.

Postecoglou is confident he can turn things around

It's understood that, as of now, there is no consensus at Spurs that Postecoglou is potentially a handful of losses away from the sack. And the ex-Celtic manager is certainly confident that things will turn round at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After the loss to Everton, the ex-Australia manager said: "If you look at the situation we're in, it will eventually dissipate. I certainly hope and believe it will.

"I certainly haven't lost belief or determination to turn it around and the players showed in the second half that they haven't either."

There's a subtle but distinct linework pattern running through the new shirt that's said to have been inspired by "the borough’s vibrant music scene and streetwear culture of the borough of Tottenham"
