Chelsea have had meeting with 39-year-old manager, Mauricio Pochettino is now likely to leave

A big claim has emerged about Mauricio Pochettino’s future and one manager who has been linked to Chelsea.

Chelsea could finish this season without meeting any of their objectives, so Mauricio Pochettino‘s job looks far from safe.

Champions League qualification is gone and has been for quite a while, while there is a good chance that the Blues will not even finish in a Europa League or Europa Conference League spot.

At present, Pochettino’s men are ninth in the Premier League table.

HITC insider Graeme Bailey told The Chelsea Chronicle last week that there is an expectation that Pochettino will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Chelsea have reportedly held meeting with potential Mauricio Pochettino replacement

According to journalist Pedro Sepulveda, Pochettino will probably leave Chelsea when the campaign concludes.

The club look prepared for his potential departure, with Sepulveda also claiming that they flew Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim out earlier this month and had a meeting with him.

If true, then Pochettino definitely looks done.

But who knows? After that 5-0 defeat to Arsenal, maybe his fate was already sealed.

Ruben Amorim and West Ham United

Chelsea are not the only club Amorim has been linked to.

In fact, the 39-year-old has even spoken publicly about talks he has had with West Ham United about becoming their manager.

West Ham could actually pip Chelsea to a European spot, but you would still expect the latter to beat their London rivals in any potential race for Amorim this summer.

Despite Chelsea’s struggles this season, they still have the kind of squad that a lot of managers would want to work with.

It is a squad that Pochettino has failed to get the best out of. If the Argentine had, then he would not be in this situation right now. It is looking quite bleak for the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur boss as Chelsea seemingly consider replacements for him.
