Liverpool's title hopes hang by the faintest of threads as Jurgen Klopp's Premier League finale gets well and truly underway.

Anything but a victory will see Liverpool's chances of overtaking Arsenal and Man City come to a screeching halt and Tottenham stand in their way. It will be Klopp's penultimate match at Anfield, and the German coach is hoping to enjoy his final three games.

With the end of an era fast approaching, it is difficult for some attention not to be placed on the future. Arne Slot appears lined up to take over from Klopp after the Reds agreed a package with Feyenoord for his arrival.

There is more business to complete behind the scenes too. With that said, Mirror Football looks at some of the latest news surrounding Liverpool.

Secret meeting

It has emerged that Jurgen Klopp met with coach Henk De Jong. The Dutchman, in charge at second division side Cambuur, was invited for a tour of Liverpool's facilities.

De Jong was joined by Arne Slot ten years ago at Cambuur, when he appointed the prospective Liverpool boss as his assistant. De Jong chatted with Klopp and his coaching staff following a Reds' under-21 match.

Despite officially having a day off, the group seemingly turned up to get the lowdown on Slot. De Jong said: "“They liked the fact that Arne Slot was my assistant at the start of his career.

"Sipke Hulshoff was also on my staff and he is coming with Arne as well. I told them all about it. Everyone at Liverpool is hoping that Arne is going to do really well. Pep Lijnders is not staying, but I sensed everyone at Liverpool is hoping Pep will come back to the club one day."

Defence plans

Liverpool are set to offer Jarrell Quansah a new contract at the end of the season. The 21-year-old defender has enjoyed a breakout year in the Reds' backline.

It is around 12 months since Quansah last signed a new deal but the academy product is set for a lucrative pay-rise as reward for his performances. The youngster has made 30 appearances under Klopp this term and has cemented his place as a long term prospect.

It will not deter Liverpool from looking into the transfer market for another defender. They are set to target Eintracht Frankfurt's 22-year-old Colombian Willian Pacho, with discussions having already taken place for the £50million star.

Jamie Carragher prediction

Liverpool require a win against Tottenham, to send Klopp off with greater momentum than recent results have allowed if nothing else.

Speaking on the An Echo of Glory Podcast, the former Liverpool defender is expecting a tight game but doesn't have great expectations of either side's backline.

“I’m going to go 2-1 because Liverpool can’t keep a clean sheet at the moment so Tottenham will score," he said. Tottenham can’t keep a clean sheet at the moment as well, thankfully, so I think we’ll just have a bit too much for you. Just, I think it will be a tight game and I’m looking forward to watching it,
