The pundit picked Franz Beckenbauer as the best defender of all-time, while he gave a shoutout to Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk as the best defender in the world at the moment.

Indeed, Drogba believes Van Dijk is the best in the world at what he does.

Van Dijk has received tons of praise for his performances this season, and it’s fair to say he’s back to his best.

“Wow, it is difficult for me to say, but I’ll go with Van Dijk,” Drogba said.

Drogba won all there was to win during his time at Chelsea, and it’s fair to say he knows what he’s talking about when he’s judging players at the elite level.
