John Terry and Declan Rice both react on Instagram to last night’s news about Chelsea player

John Terry and Declan Rice both reacted on Instagram last night to the news about one Chelsea player.

The Blues held their annual End of Season Awards yesterday at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have three games remaining in their campaign, where a European finish may still be on the cards. They’re currently seventh in the Premier League table with upcoming fixtures versus Nottingham Forest (away), Brighton (away) and Bournemouth (home).

It should come as no surprise that Cole Palmer, 22, took home the two main awards for the men’s first team.

The Men’s Players’ Player of the Year, which is voted for by the men’s first-team squad, went to Palmer for his remarkable debut campaign at the club. He also won the Men’s Player of the Year prize, which is voted for by supporters.

Palmer is flying high right now as an attacking playmaker, scoring 24 goals and making 13 assists in 42 Blues appearances so far.

John Terry and Declan Rice hail Chelsea star

Palmer celebrated his individual success at the Chelsea’s awards night with an Instagram post.

Both John Terry and Declan Rice were among those to reply in the comment section and react to last night’s news.

Cole Palmer to miss out on golden boot

Despite going past the 20-goal mark in the league, which is a phenomenal achievement, Palmer looks set to miss out on the division’s top scorer unless he enjoys a late flurry of goals.

The left-footed attacker, who’s been playing as a No 10 or right-winger, is a huge goal threat. He’s netted 21 times in 31 league matches this term.

Here below is the current race for the Premier League’s golden boot prize. Incidentally, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will be aiming to extend his lead in his side’s remaining games against Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham.

Name PL Goals
Erling Haaland (Man City) 25
Cole Palmer (Chelsea) 21
Alexander Isak (Newcastle United) 20
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) 19
