One West Ham United player wants to leave the London Stadium in the summer, in spite of the club’s best efforts to keep him.

West Ham have a handful of exceptional players amongst our squad right now, but there is definitely plenty of deadwood that needs shipping out as well.

However, the biggest change of the summer will be in the Hammers dugout, with David Moyes widely expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

The likes of Paulo Fonseca are allegedly being lined up to replace the Scot, as the West Ham owners look for a manager who can really take us on to the next level.

However, there will be some big exits from the playing staff as well. We just have to hope that the club manage to keep hold of our holy trinity – Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus.

Whilst that task will be extremely hard, it seems as though the Hammers owners are focusing their attention on keeping another one of our players at the club…

According to talkSPORT, West Ham want to keep Aaron Cresswell at the London Stadium for one more season, but the left-back is keen to experience a new challenge.

Amazingly, the Hammers have just offered the 34-year-old a new 12-month deal – one that he has rejected.

Why on earth are we trying to keep Cresswell at the London Stadium? He can barely run anymore, and is a liability for us every single time he plays.

He has been a great servant for us, and was once a very good player. Moyes labelled Cresswell as ‘excellent’ a couple of years back, and tipped him to earn a call-up to the England squad (WHUFC.com).

However, he has regressed badly over the past two seasons.

The former Ipswich Town defender has made just 15 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers this term, with just eight of those being starts (Transfermarkt).

Any other Premier League club would have parted ways with the 34-year-old two years ago but no, not us.

If the 34-year-old West Ham player wants to leave, the board should let him do exactly that.
