An all-Manchester final remains on the cards

The FA Cup semi final draw has been made

Manchester United will meet Brighton for a place in the FA Cup final while Man City face Championship side Sheffield United.

The draw was made on Sunday afternoon ahead of United's last eight tie with Fulham which Erik ten Hag's side won 3-1 in dramatic fashion. The Cottagers were ahead in the second half through Aleksandar Mitrovic's header before the visitors imploded.

Willian was sent off following a VAR review for handball on the line before boss Marco Silva and goalscorer Mitrovic were sent off for protests. Bruno Fernandes scored the resultant penalty and Marcel Sabitzer put United ahead 90 seconds later. Fernandes rounded off the scoring with the final kick of the game.

It was more serene progress for City who enjoyed a comprehensive victory over Burnley in the quarter-finals on Saturday. An Erling Haaland hat-trick got the Blues on their way before Julian Alvarez bagged a brace.

Cole Palmer also grabbed a goal to ensure that Pep Guardiola's men were the first team in the hat for the semi-final draw. City will take on Sheffield United in the last four, after the Blades twice came from behind to beat fellow second tier side Blackburn Rovers. City loanee Tommy Doyle scored a stunning winner for the Yorkshiremen but he will be cup tied for the semi-final.

Both last four matches will take place at Wembley over the weekend of April 22/23.
