Dele Alli offered career lifeline after being 'banished' from Besiktas' matchday squad 10 days ago

Dele Alli has reportedly been offered a career lifeline after claims he has been told to watch the remainder of Besiktas' season from the stands.

Alli joined Besiktas on loan in the summer and has made 15 appearances in all competition. But after early promise and the odd impressive display, the stint has not gone well for the England international, who does not appear to be in the plans of manager Senol Gunes.

He was omitted from the squad for recent fixtures against Ankaragucu and Istanbul Basaksehir and Turkish outlet Takvim say the 26-year-old has been "banished" and will not play any further part this season.

Besiktas do have the option to sign the two-time PFA Young Player of the Year permanently from Everton for £6.9 million but are extremely unlikely to do so.

But he also does not appear to have a future at Everton, where he made just one start, as they are widely expected to terminate the two-and-a-half year contract he signed.

Still, Alli could still well have some high-profile potential suitors in the summer. say both AC Milan and Inter Milan are keen on him and might just give him a "Serie A opportunity".

Given the way in which his career has gone in recent years, the pair think his cost might not be too high and could be worth a gamble.

Everton boss Sean Dyche was asked about Alli's situation and said he is to hold talks with the midfielder.

"I’ll wait until the international break, because the news is suggesting that he’s not going to be involved there," Dyche explained.

“We’ll have to wait and see and judge things in the summer now, when we all get back together.

“Because I’m pretty sure that he’s contracted until the end of the season there (Besiktas), so we’ll pick that up during the international break.”

Alli hit back-to-back double figures in his first two full seasons in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino but has declined massively since the Argentine left Spurs.
