Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City’s remaining fixtures as Erling Haaland continues title charge

Manchester City and Erling Haaland produced a dominant win over Wolverhampton Wanderers to keep the pressure on Arsenal who defeated Bournemouth earlier in the day in the Premier League

Erling Haaland ensured Manchester City's title charge did not slow down against Wolverhampton Wanderers as Pep Guardiola's side prevailed 5-1.

City responded with three points after Arsenal secured a victory of their own earlier on Saturday. The Gunners had extended their lead at the top of the table for a few hours after beating Bournemouth thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice.

Their four-point advantage was quickly reduced back to one as Haaland bagged four goals at the Etihad Stadium. The Norway international scored twice from the penalty spot and extended his lead at the top of the Premier League top goalscorer chart in an ominious home outing.

The Citizens still hold a game in hand of Arsenal, against Tottenham, and have three matches remaining in all as they also take on Fulham and West Ham. Arsenal are likely to have to produce perfection to stand any chance of lifting the league trophy and take on Manchester United and Everton.

Liverpool's chances remain hanging by a thread with the Reds eight points behind Arsenal. Jurgen Klopp has given up hope of a glorious finale at Anfield but the Carabao Cup champions can still claim another nine points.

The first of the side's three remaining games take place on Sunday as they welcome Spurs to Merseyside. Anything but a win will see their dreams officially end.

The German coach has already accepted he will have to be content with a place in the top four. He said: “It needs a bit of convincing to be happy with Champions League qualification but it is still allowed.

“It doesn’t help if you lose the next game, especially at home, and lose to Aston Villa and Wolves. So it’s not enjoying in a way. It’s football. The only way to enjoy football is if you win games and that is what we will try.
