The Kevin De Bruyne to Saudi Arabia links seemingly just won’t go away, and today, there is word on how much they feel they can get the Belgian maestro for.

De Bruyne is coming to the end of his eighth season at the Etihad Stadium, and it has been a frustrating one for the 32-year-old.

A hamstring injury, for which he underwent surgery, effectively ruled him out of the first half of the season. But he came back and has been superb when he’s played and against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, he went top of the assists chart, after setting up Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland.

It is a remarkable achievement, and a sign he is still playing at a very high level.

But De Bruyne, who turns 33 in the summer, is a target for clubs in Saudi – and journalist Ben Jacobs has dropped an update on the situation today…

Saudi clubs feel they can lure Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City for ‘£100m+ with significant bonuses’

Four clubs in Saudi Arabia are obscenely wealthy given they are owned by PIF.

They are Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli, with former Manchester City stars Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez having both joined the league last summer.

City fans would like to hope that De Bruyne won’t leave this summer.

The £350,000-a-week ace has been settled for a long time in Manchester and adores the club. But the SPL want to make some marquee signings this summer and are seemingly ready to throw a lot of money around to bring that to fruition.

De Bruyne and Mo Salah are thought to be the players they covet the most, and journalist Ben Jacobs has tonight dropped an update on the Belgian.

He said in one message on X: “Away from Mo Salah news, understand Saudi dealmakers hoping for 5-6 marquee signings this summer. Around £2bn allocated for transfer/agent fees plus wages. Kevin De Bruyne a target but feeling remains he’ll stay/extend at #MCFC. De Bruyne hasn’t indicated he wants Saudi.”

He then added: “Manchester City don’t have a number in mind to sell, but Saudi side feel £100m+ with significant bonuses on top will be necessary if they get player buy-in.”

Man City may be open to KDB offers

City fans will not want to consider the prospect of De Bruyne leaving the club this summer, but it’s something that cannot be totally ruled out.

City are very aware that De Bruyne is turning 33 this summer and will have just one year on his contract left.

If there is no willingness to extend then the club are probably going to hear offers. Even if there is a willingness to extend, City may still hear offers that come from Saudi, given their financial might.

It has previously been suggested by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri that the player is ‘not totally against the idea’ of moving to Saudi. But it would still be a big surprise if De Bruyne did push for that move.
