Dejan Kulusevski has shared the two reasons why he believes Arsenal are better than Tottenham Hotspur right now.

Mikel Arteta’s side kept their title hopes firmly alive with a 3-2 victory in the North London Derby on Sunday.

Tottenham threatened to mount a memorable comeback after heading into halftime 3-0 down. David Raya gifted Spurs a lifeline with a lacklustre pass out from the back, which led to Cristian Romero grabbing one back.

Despite Heung-min Son’s late penalty, Arsenal got the job done and Spurs were punished after a nightmare first half.

Kulusevski on Arsenal and Tottenham

Spurs conceded three avoidable goals in the first half of yesterday’s North London Derby. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg turned the ball into his own net following Bukayo Saka’s corner in the 15th minute.

Arsenal then hit Ange Postecoglou’s side on the counter 12 minutes later as Saka gained a yard on Ben Davies before placing the ball into the bottom corner.

Another corner provided a third for Arsenal as Kai Havertz was gifted far too much space to head home from six-yards out.

And while speaking to Football.London following a disappointing derby defeat, Kulusevski claimed Arsenal are more ‘disciplined and mature’ than Spurs right now.

“No it is not [a big gap], but they are much more disciplined,” the Swede said. “Much more disciplined and a little bit more mature. That is where we are lacking at the moment.

He added: “They score on corners. We concede. It is quite easy. Being strong in difficult moments like a set-piece. Things like that.”

Tottenham vs Arsenal stats

It’s difficult to disagree with Kulusevski’s comments as Spurs lost the game down to moments yesterday.

Arsenal were nowhere near their best on the day and Tottenham dominated for large periods of the game.

Indeed, Spurs had more of the ball (62 per cent), created the better chances and managed 15 shots to Arsenal’s nine.

Postecoglou’s men had nothing to show for it in the end though and set-pieces ultimately cost them in the derby.
