Manchester City and United will meet in the FA Cup final for the second year running.

The kick-off for the second straight FA Cup final Manchester derby has been confirmed.

United and City will meet at Wembley at 3pm on Saturday, May 25. The time has been agreed with the clubs, local authorities, members of the Safety Advisory Group and broadcasters.

City will looked to defend their crown after prevailing 2-1 in last year’s showpiece, İlkay Gündoğan scoring twice either side of a Bruno Fernandes penalty.

Erik ten Hag’s men just about secured their return to the national stadium with a penalty shoot-out win against Coventry - narrowly avoiding a humiliating exit having been 3-0 up before being pegged back to 3-3 by the Championship side. City left it late to see off Chelsea in their semi-final, Bernardo Silva scoring six minutes from time to seal a 1-0 win.

There was some uncertainty over the kick-off time for the fixture due to the huge police presence that will be needed. But it has now been confirmed it will be the same as last year’s 3pm kick-off which the Metropolitan Police deemed to be a 'high-risk' fixture. That does make things easier for match-going fans. A 5.15pm kick-off, which was suggested, would have left fans scrambling for a way home - the only direct train possible for supporters of both clubs to get on would have been the 8.18pm service from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly.
