It's been a LONG wait for the Aberdeen faithful to get confirmed news over a new permanent boss.
But a major hint from Elfsborg has offered a likely time that the Reds can expect an announcement to take place. Jimmy Thelin had been lined up to come into the hotseat in the summer as the next full-time boss at Pittodrie, with Barry Robson finally replaced after caretaker stints from Peter Leven, Neil Warnock and Leven currently.
It's been a long chase for Dave Cormack, Alan Burrows and Co to land their top managerial target - but it would appear that the news all has been waiting for is likely to come around 1pm. How do we know this? Well, his current employers have issued an update that strongly suggests they’re about to make a major announcement. A statement read: "IF Elfsborg invites the media to a press conference regarding the manager position. A warm welcome to the media centre at Borås Arena today, Tuesday 16 April at 14:00 CET."
It’s expected Oscar Hiljemark will be Elfsborg’s replacement for Thelin. Leven - who is getting the troops ready for a huge Scottish Cup semi-final battle with Celtic this weekend - reckons the next permanent boss will be keeping a close eye on the Dons as he issued a warning to the entire playing squad over their futures in the Granite City. He said: "If the club are speaking to certain managers, I'm sure he'll have an eye on all of their games and he's watching the games.
"I've always said to them, you have to perform every day in training and every matchday, because you never know who's watching for you to get a move, or the new manager's watching to come in to keep you.”

The likes of Kelle Roos, Connor Barron and Jonny Hayes are all out of contract in the coming weeks but Leven has NOT been involved in extension talks and even those who have time on their deals could still be at threat. He added: "No, I haven't spoken to them about contracts or anything.
"Whoever's out of contract, they're playing for their future, whether it's here or somewhere else, and their standards need to be high anyway. Even the boys who are under contract - they need to perform for this next coach coming in, and they need to perform for themselves and the fans right now. Everybody's got a lot to play for."
