Rangers hero Ryan Kent at centre of astonishing Fenerbahce power battle as influential teammate ‘wants him OUT of club’

FORMER Rangers star Ryan Kent has reportedly found himself at the centre of a Fenerbahce power struggle.

And ex-Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko seemingly wants him OUT of the club.

Kent left Rangers at the end of last season and was quickly snapped-up by the Turkish giants on a deal running until 2027.

But the move hasn't gone to plan and the 27-year old has effectively been bombed out of the first team picture since the end of last year.

He's made just 18 appearances in all competitions and was left out of Fener's squad for the Turkish Super Lig following the January transfer window.

That's meant Kent has been restricted to just three appearances in the past three months.

The writing has looked to be on the wall for some time, with Fener trying to move him on in January.

Several clubs were linked with a move for him and a shock switch to Italian giants Lazio fell through at the last minute.

And with the summer transfer window looking, it looks like his time at the club will indeed be coming to an end.

Not least because one of his TEAMMATES is reportedly calling the shots at the club.

According to reports out of Turkey, veteran former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has effectively taken control of first team affairs.

Fotospor say that a power struggle has emerged behind the scenes, with 38-year old Dzeko and fellow former English Premier League star Dusan Tadic looking to exact their influence over manager Ismail Kartal.

The astonishing report says Dzeko has taken the lead in a private WhatsApp group that contains the squad's other players from the Balkan region.

It claims he's taken on an almost de-facto 'sporting director' role and has been pushing for a foreign assistant to be appointed alongside Kartal.

Such is Dzeko's authority, the report also claims he's had the ear of Fenerbahce President Ali Koc with regards transfer dealings.

And that looks set to continue in the summer, according to the sensational claims.

Fotospor say that Dzeko and Tadic have a list of players they want to see axed from the club.

And Kent is one of those.

Fener are currently battling it out with rivals Galatasaray for the Turkish title.

Both sides had been on relentless runs of form, but it was Fenerbahce who blinked first last night.

They conceded a 94th minute equaliser from the penalty spot against mid-table Sivasspor as they were held to a 2-2 draw.

That result saw them fall four points behind Galatasaray with just five matches left to play.
