A day later, Sport stated the La Liga side can’t meet the Toffees’ demands and are willing to offer Fermín López, Clément Lenglet, Sergiño Dest or Ansu Fati as part of a deal for the 22-year-old.

A fresh report from Sport states Everton have ‘finally given in’ and have to sell some of their stars to improve their finances.

The Belgium international is included in the list and this would please the clubs that are interested in him, including Barca.

Onana ‘fits perfectly’ into the type of midfielder that Deco is looking for in the market, and he ‘captivates’ the director.

Barcelona have already carried out surveys, likely with Sean Dyche’s side, to find out the initial price. The report states Everton have already warned that they don’t want to sell Onana for less than €70m.

This would be beyond Barcelona’s reach and they have offered Everton a chance to sign one of their own players, to lower the cost for Onana. It’s claimed the ‘negotiations didn’t go further’, indicating the Merseyside club aren’t in favour of this formula.

Barca are looking for ‘imaginative formulas’ to try to sign the Belgian. At the same time, other Premier League sides, like Chelsea, with better financial resources, won’t have an issue offering millions for Onana.

Although the former Lille man is ‘up for sale’, Barcelona’s financial situation will make it difficult for them to agree a deal with Everton.
