Arsenal's Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka are in agreement that their team has shown the mental strength to compete at the top end of the season.

Following a victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Mikel Arteta's side continues to lead the Premier League, despite Man City having games in hand. The Gunners find themselves in a similar position to last year and hope to maintain their form while hoping for City to falter. Sunday's match against their north London rivals was not without its challenges for Arsenal.

They capitalised on their opponent's weaknesses in the first half, scoring three goals through Saka and Kai Havertz after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's own goal. However, they faced a tough test when Cristian Romero scored following David Raya's mistake, and Son Heung-min's penalty made for a tense finish. Odegaard believes that Arsenal's ability to secure the win shows they have learned from last season's defeats when faced with adversity.

Arsenal's Norwegian star Martin Odegaard has acknowledged the team's previous frailties when facing adversity. He stated: "Yeah, I think so.

"I think how we react now after a tough week of the Villa game and going out of the Champions League and to come back and put on performances and results like we have done lately is a massive compliment to the whole team and the mindset. Today was another example of how we fight for each other and we never give up and how much we want to do this", reports the Mirror.

Bukayo Saka, speaking with Sky Sports, reflected on the growth in resilience within the squad, pointing out that in the past, games like the recent one could have ended differently: "We showed that today," he remarked. "Maybe last season that could have ended in a draw and we showed we have the experience."
