Liverpool is continuing to assess its best options to replace Jürgen Klopp with Rúben Amorim among them, while a Reds midfielder is being linked with an exit. Here's your round-up of the latest Liverpool news.

Sporting CP president 'confident' of keeping Rúben Amorim

Frederico Varandas, the president of Sporting CP, is confident about convincing Liverpool managerial target Rúben Amorim to stay at the Portuguese club this summer. Interest is mounting in the 39-year-old coach who was previously at Braga.

With Xabi Alonso staying at Bayer Leverkusen and links with Roberto De Zerbi having been played down by Liverpool, Amorim has emerged as the obvious pick for the Reds to go with. Sporting CP is on the verge of confirming another league title win under Amorim, who broke a 19-year duck with the same club a couple of years ago.

According to the Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Varandas is so keen to keep Amorim that he has not considered any replacements yet. He believes that the current Sporting boss could be convinced to remain put for another year, just as Alonso committed to in Germany.

Amorim is under contract until 2026 with his current club. If Liverpool did make a move for him, it would likely come after the conclusion of the season to respect the work he is doing at the moment.

Ryan Gravenberch targeted for summer transfer

Liverpool has been unable to give Ryan Gravenberch much of a platform this season. Since signing from Bayern Munich, where he left because of a lack of game time, the 21-year-old midfielder has only completed 90 minutes once.

With six matches remaining and a full squad to pick from, it remains to be seen if Klopp will turn to Gravenberch again before the campaign concludes. And that makes it inevitable that transfer links away from Anfield will emerge.

Already, the Turkish outlet Fotomac has suggested that Galatasaray would be keen on signing Gravenberch in the summer, just a year on from Liverpool spending $43m (£34m/€40m) on the ex-Ajax talent. Galatasaray made an offer for Gravenberch last year only for the player to hold out for a move to Anfield instead.

But the report states that the Turkish Super Lig outfit could return and try again because of the limited amount of minutes Gravenberch has found so far at Liverpool. In truth, though, any decision would likely need to come after a new manager has been announced at Anfield before Gravenberch could even think about a move anywhere else.
