A huge clash takes place at the Emirates Stadium later today, with Arsenal looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League when they take on Chelsea.

After a tough week that saw Arsenal knocked out of the Champions League and lose ground in the Premier League title race, the Gunners returned to winning ways on the weekend, beating Wolves 2-0 at Molineux. The result took Mikel Arteta's side top of the league with Man City in FA Cup action this weekend, but a tough test awaits Arsenal, with Chelsea up next.

The Blues lost their first game since the 1-0 Carabao Cup final defeat on Saturday, with Bernardo Silva grabbing a late winner in a 1-0 FA Cup semi-final loss to Man City at Wembley. Once again, it was a much-improved performance from Mauricio Pochettino's side compared to a few months back, and Chelsea will be looking to cause trouble for Arsenal's title hopes tonight as they continue their push for a European spot.

Victory for the Blues against the Gunners would see them jump to seventh in the table, level on points with Newcastle United in sixth. The meeting between the two sides earlier this season ended in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, with Arsenal coming from two goals down to salvage a point.

So, how could the clash between Arsenal and Chelsea play out tonight? Let's take a look.

Arsenal vs Chelsea simulated to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Arsenal could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Jorginho, Odegaard, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.

We predict that Chelsea could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Petrovic; Disasi, Silva, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson.

The first half was a tense affair, with both sides picking up three yellow cards each as tempers flared early on. The best chance of the opening 45 minutes fell the way of Kai Havertz when Martin Odegaard sent him one-on-one with Djordje Petrovic, but the finish was poor as he sent his effort wide of the goal.

An early flurry of chances fell Chelsea's way in the second half with Nicolas Jackson getting in some fantastic positions, but similar to the FA Cup semi-final against City, the striker lacked a clinical edge in front of goal. Mikel Arteta made a triple substitution with 20 minutes to go, and the changes paid off as the Gunners took the lead in the 74th minute.

Arsenal were camped around the Chelsea box as they looked for a breakthrough, and a smart pass from Thomas Partey picked out Declan Rice in the box with his back to goal. As the midfielder received the ball, a smart flick through the legs of Thiago Silva fell to the feet of Gabriel Jesus, and the Brazilian curled around the keeper to make it 1-0.

With a few minutes to go, Havertz was sent off for Arsenal after picking up his second yellow card of the evening. Despite showing signs of promise in attack throughout the game, Chelsea were unable to find a response in the final stages, with the Blues only managing one shot before the full-time whistle as Arsenal picked up a huge three points.
