Harry Kane will be lining up in one of the biggest games of his career tonight when his Bayern Munich side takes on Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final second leg.

It's been a mixed season for Kane in his debut year at Bayern with the former Tottenham Hotspur forward bagging a host of goals yet there's no getting away from the fact his inaugural season in Germany has seen the club miss out on their first Bundelisga title for 11 years. However, Kane's scoring prowess has not dimmed one bit, and as well as booking a place in the Champions League semi-finals, en route to which he helped knock out Arsenal, many people have been looking at just what boots adorn Kane's feet these days as they don't look all that familiar.

That's because Kane is wearing Skechers on his feet. Skechers are not particularly synonymous with their football boots and most people will instead think of comfortable footwear when the brand comes to mind, but they've been looking to change that this year with the massive signing of Kane last year. Skechers’ decision to take on football is no surprise given that the US will be co-hosting the men’s World Cup in 2026 and it's not like the brand is a total stranger to sport with them already branching out into golf and baseball.

Speaking back in August 2023, when they signed Kane, Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. said: "We’ve been developing Skechers Football boots for some time and as we perfected the design, we enlisted players to test them and offer feedback—including one of the best on the pitch, the great Harry Kane.”

So have they been a success for the England international? It's safe to say it's a resounding yes. Wearing his new boots, Kane has set a personal best for goals in a season, taking his total to 43 goals in all competitions including a penalty in last week's 2-2 first-leg draw with Real and he's now eyeing Bayern legend Robert Lewandowski's single-season record of 41 in a League campaign.

Speaking of his switch from Nike, Kane said: "It’s definitely a time of transition in my career and I’m thrilled to announce my signing with Skechers just as I’m making a big move. Ever since meeting the design team and seeing the boots for the first time, I felt confident that Skechers was onto something special."

What did the former Spurs hotshot have to say on the Skechers deal? Well, he's claimed they're nothing like he's experienced before and despite Skechers being a relative unknown in the boot market, he's convinced it's the right choice. Kane said: “I’ve been wearing the boots for weeks, scoring in them in preseason. They’re unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Own it, own who you are. Own what you want to achieve. And that’s what I feel like I’ve done throughout my whole career."

And to those who think Skechers don't match up the boots developed by the likes of Nike or Adidas, Kane added: "I wouldn’t back a brand or gear if I didn’t 100 percent believe in it. This is the real deal.”

Skechers Football has entered the footy arena with the SKX_01, the boot favoured by Kane. Skechers say that "It is the epitome of modern football footwear designed with the insight of professional players who desire precise control on the ball." The boots feature a custom-designed last that's been meticulously crafted to optimize the fit and comfort and they come in an array of colours.

The brand added: "This unique boot ensures that every player experiences the perfect fit for enhancing overall control and touch on the field." You can shop the Skechers football range and the boots Kane himself wears on Skechers here.
