Liverpool FC star Cody Gakpo has been flooded with supportive messages as he announced his new baby's adorable name.

The Dutch forward has enjoyed resurgence in form towards the end of the season. The 25-year-old sealed a fine performance at the weekend as he scored a goal and got an assist in the 4 - 2 victory over Tottenham.

It has been a big few weeks away from the pitch as his girlfriend, Noa van der Bij, gave birth to their first child. Gakpo sat out of the Merseyside Derby defeat last month after his wife went into labour.

He has taken to Instagram tonight to share an update as he announced his son's name, Samuël Seth Gakpo. He shared a snap with the new family addition as he said: "On 25-04-24, we were blessed with the new love of our lives Samuël Seth Gakpo "

Teammate Ryan Gravenberch responded with a series of heart eyes emojis. Cindy Peroti, who is in a relationship with Gravenberch, also swooned over the update.

Curtis Jones' partner, Saffie Khan, added a heart emoji.
