Borussia Dortmund’s official social media account aimed a brutal dig at Paris Saint-Germain.

On Tuesday Dortmund became the first team to reach the Champions League final as Mats Hummels’ second-half header earned them a 1-0 win at PSG and a 2-0 victory on aggregate.

The German outfit put in a brilliant defensive display against PSG’s star-studded line-up before Hummels nodded home Julian Brandt’s corner five minutes into the second half.

PSG were also wasteful, failing to score from 30 shots and hitting the woodwork on four occasions (and six times across the tie).

After claiming the victory Dortmund were quick to mock their French opposition on social media.

Back in April, PSG celebrated their 6-4 aggregate quarter-final victory over Barcelona by sharing a photoshopped picture of a hot-air balloon donning Barcelona colours sinking in Paris’ Seine river, with the city’s iconic Eiffel Tower in the background.

But in the wake of Tuesday’s victory, Dortmund quote tweeted the picture and shared a photoshop of their own, depicting a hot air balloon gliding across the sky decorated in the German side’s famous yellow and black.

They captioned the picture with the words: “Passez des bonne vacances”, which is French for “Enjoy your holidays”.

After the game, Dortmund manager Edin Terzic told TNT Sports: "Proud. If I have to find one word, it's proud for us. I'm very proud for my staff and my team, for the club. The dream is not over yet!

"We suffered a lot but we showed a very good away game against a team that is so powerful upfront, so quick, so mobile - and we kept two clean sheets. We won both games in the semi-finals, this is unbelievable and outstanding.

"[The defence was] led by Gregor Kobel, then Hummels, then Nico Schlotterbeck, then Julian Ryerson, then Ian Maatsen. The boys in front of them, it was an outstanding team performance. Other than that, you have no chance to keep a clean sheet. It's impossible.

"The second half was just passionate and keep a clean sheet, do everything to block crosses and shots."
