The worrying Mauricio Pochettino stat that suggests Chelsea could be in trouble against Arsenal tonight

Chelsea travel to the Emirates tonight to take on London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men are looking to bounce back from their FA Cup semi-final defeat against Manchester City.

A win versus the Gunners would see them go level on points with Newcastle United in sixth.

Chelsea are currently ninth in the Premier League table, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta thinks they should be much higher.

His side are looking to open up a lead at the top, with the north London club and Liverpool both on 74 points at the moment.

Mauricio Pochettino’s record at the Emirates

Going into tonight’s game, not too many Chelsea supporters will be feeling confident, especially with Cole Palmer being a doubt.

Pochettino confirmed yesterday that the 21-year-old has been absent from training.

However, there is also another reason for Chelsea fans to be worried.

According to BBC Sport, Pochettino has never actually won a league game away at the Emirates.

During his time as Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton manager, the Argentine drew four and loss three of his seven visits to Arsenal’s home ground.

Can Mauricio Pochettino pick up his first Premier League win at the Emirates tonight?

It is going to be a tough ask, perhaps even an impossible one if Palmer does go on to miss the game.

The England international has been Chelsea’s best player this season, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists in the Premier League.

The most the Blues can probably hope for is a draw, but they really could do with a win.

Time is running out for them to climb into the top six and secure Europa League qualification. They cannot afford to drop too many points between now and the end of the season, but doing that against a very good Arsenal side seems likely.

Ultimately, it would be a bit of a surprise if Pochettino got his first league victory at the Emirates tonight.
