‘Doing really well’… ESPN pundit now thinks everyone was wrong about former Chelsea player

Chelsea sold a lot of their players in the last summer transfer window.

That includes the likes of Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kai Havertz.

All three of the players left Chelsea and are now thriving, with Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek joining AC Milan, while Havertz moved to Arsenal.

Havertz has even punished his former club, scoring two goals in Arsenal’s 5-0 win against the Blues last week.

In total, he has scored 13 goals for the Gunners this season, while Pulisic has also managed 13. As for Loftus-Cheek, he has netted 10 times, which is not bad for a central midfielder.

Pundit thinks everyone was wrong about former Chelsea player

As well as scoring against Chelsea, Havertz has also breached Tottenham’s defence, putting the ball into the back of their net on Sunday with a header.

Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha now thinks the German’s critics were wrong about him.

Speaking on ESPN, he said: “People were like, ‘What does he do? He’s a waste of time’, this, that and the other. And a lot of those people had to walk back all their opinions. In fact, they’re not walking them back, they’re trying to imagine they were never said.

“Some people, commentators, distancing themselves from things, really strong opinions they had. Mocked, he was a joke, he was a joke, but now you see his impact in terms of say his target play, his link-up play, his finishing. He’s doing really well.”

Chelsea do not need to regret selling Kai Havertz just yet

While Havertz may be in good form at the moment, he has only scored two more league goals than Nicolas Jackson, the man who replaced him, and in more games.

There is also a chance of Chelsea bringing in a world-class striker this summer.

HITC insider Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle that the Blues want to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

Land him, and Chelsea supporters will not care too much about what Havertz, one of the club’s most expensive sales, is doing at the Emirates. Fail to do that and the 24-year-old continues to improve, then perhaps some questions might start to be asked.
