Andy Murray is planning on doing something at Roland Garros that he’s not done since 2006 – if he can prove his fitness.

The Great British tennis legend injured his ankle pretty badly during the Miami Open.

During a two sets to one defeat, he damaged the ligaments and it was touch and go whether it might threaten his career.

However, he has been seen back in practice and it looks as though the French Open might be within his grasp.

Murray will surely want to bow out on his terms this year, with Wimbledon a likely swansong for the two-time winner.

Now, it’s come to light that the 36-year-old wants to do something at Roland Garros that he’s not done for a long time.

Well, it’s promising that some future plans are being outlined for Murray, with his injury seemingly looking very serious when it occurred in March.

However, he looks to be on the mend and I News have outlined what Murray would like to do if he’s fit for France.

They claim that Murray will enter the doubles tournament with Dan Evans if he can prove his fitness ahead of Roland Garros.

Murray is keen to up his doubles game ahead of the Olympics in the summer where he will partner Joe Salisbury.

The three-time Grand Slam winner will want to get himself fit ahead of the second major of the year and try to win some matches.

There are a couple of tournaments he could enter before then but with injuries taking over, he may choose to rest up until then.

Murray can be seriously dangerous in doubles

Right now, it would merely be great to see Murray back on the court in any capacity.

Murray has previously stated that he wants to head to the Olympics with the intention of winning a medal and he won’t play otherwise.

That mentality is not surprising considering Murray has displayed such a level of determination throughout his career.

Now, the key is to get fit and alongside someone like Evans and Salisbury, he could still be a dangerous player.

Murray won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics alongside Laura Robson and now he’s chasing more glory at the games.

Given what he’s achieved in his career to date, don’t bet against him going out in style with a big win.
