Chelsea and Arsenal are two of the Premier League’s biggest and best-known clubs, but there’s quite a gulf between the two at present.

The Blues have struggled for consistency this season and currently sit ninth in the table. Meanwhile, the Gunners are at the summit.

This summer, both Chelsea and Arsenal will likely look to make use of the transfer window to bolster their ranks.

The Blues need quality additions to help the team get back into the European fold, while the Gunners will want signings to reach that next level and win trophies.

And there could well be competition between the two. According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Chelsea have now set their sights on two Arsenal attacking targets.

Jones claimed on Sportscasting that the Blues are keen on RB Leipzig duo Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda, two players also said to be on the Gunners wish-list.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are stepping up their search for a new striker, with Sesko seemingly featuring high on their list.

Sesko is reported to have a €50million release clause (£43million) that will activate in the summer.

With regards to Openda, Jeunes Footeux recently claimed that the 24-year-old is on the Gunners’ radar – despite being valued at £69million.

Sesko and/or Openda would be outstanding acquisitions for Chelsea and Arsenal.

The former is very talented, physically imposing and, at just 20 years of age, can get a whole lot better still.

The Bundesliga’s official website has compared the striker to Erling Haaland, which is obviously a huge badge of honour.

Meanwhile, the German top flight’s website likened Openda to none other than Barcelona and Poland star Robert Lewandowski.

Let’s see what happens in the summer. It looks as though there’s a good chance Chelsea and Arsenal could find themselves fighting over several players.
