Real Madrid remain steadfast in their quest to bolster their squad for both short-term and long-term improvements. For the defensive line, one of the options that has caught the eye of the club is Sporting de Portugal’s young centre-back, Gonçalo Inacio.
The talented 21-year-old Portuguese player has emerged as a top target for Real Madrid, even looking ahead to the upcoming winter transfer window starting on January 1, 2024. Madrid have tabled an initial offer, but it seems insufficient to sway Sporting de Portugal. The Portuguese club, however, seems open to facilitating Inacio’s departure, considering an initial payment of €45 million plus €15 million in add-ons, totaling €60 million.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid face stiff competition for Gonçalo Inacio’s services. This competition could complicate matters for the Spanish club, both in the current winter window and in preparation for the next season. Madrid might need to dig deep into their pockets once again to secure Inacio’s signature and potentially groom him into the new defensive stalwart for the club in the years to come.
